URAMAKI (INSIDE-OUT ROLL) CLASS

This is Chef Sang’s intermediate-level makimono class with focus on the four most popular North American styles of “inside-out” (Uramaki) sushi rolls. A hands-on sushi-making class, you will be making and eating the Rainbow (fish cake/imitation crab, avocado, cucumber, tuna, avocado, salmon, shrimp, yellowtail), Shrimp Tempura (shrimp tempura, avocado, tempura flakes, bbq eel sauce), Spider (soft-shell crab, avocado, cucumber, sprouts, masago roe, pickled burdock), and Caterpillar (cucumber, fish cake/imitation crab, avocado outside). The class is a favourite for those who feel they spend way too much time (and money) eating out for sushi and would rather make their own to impress their loved ones. The Making Makimonos Introductory Class is recommended, but not necessary, before embarking on this fan-favourite makimono journey. Tons of fun! Everything is supplied for you. It is ample dinner size, but edamame also provided. NOTE: This class is not for vegetarians. Dietary restrictions we can accommodate are the following: gluten, dairy, nuts. Gift certificates for the MAKING MAKIMONOS class cannot be applied against the price of this class.

MAKING MAKIMONOS INTRO CLASS

$55 + HST ($62.15)

This is Chef Sang’s most popular hands-on sushi-making class. You are introduced to the four main styles of sushi rolls, including Hosomaki (cucumber), Uramaki (California Roll), Temaki (tuna- raw), and Kazari Yin & Yang (seafood medley). The class begins with an irreverent and entertaining presentation about the history of Edo-mae sushi and proper sushi etiquette. Then, you master four different types of rolls by utilizing four different techniques and eat them as you go. Prizes for the best roll in each category are awarded! Everything is supplied for you. It is ample dinner size, but edamame is also provided. You eat, drink and laugh a lot. A favourite class for couples. Vegetarians, Vegans, and those with dietary restrictions/allergies are all welcome!

RECOMMENDED: Sushi Take Home Kit for Two: $40 + HST ($45.20)

Sushi kits are supplied to you for all events. However, if you intend on making sushi at home after taking a class, this kit is highly recommended. Unlike other kits, the items are hand-selected across brands and manufacturers, to offer the best in the market. The soy sauce and sushi rice are the same blends that are used in the sushi classes. The kit includes: Bamboo Rolling Mats (2), Custom-blended Soy Sauce Bottle, Wasabi Tube, Pickled Ginger Jar, Bag  custom-blended Sushi Rice, Nori Pack, and Sushi Seasoning Bottle.

NIGIRI & SASHIMI CLASS

$90 + HST ($101.70)

In this intermediate-high level class, you learn how to cut fish for both nigiri and sashimi. You will also learn how to prepare sushi rice properly. You will make 10 pieces of nigiri and 6 pieces of sashimi using three kinds of fish (tuna, salmon, snapper) + two kinds of shellfish (octopus, shrimp). This class is not recommended for vegetarians. The Making Makimonos Introductory Class is mandatory before enrolling in this class.
